Description: Diet plays a major role in the cause, treatment success and survival outcome in those with breast cancer. Even the genetic cancers are triggered or worsened by diet. Our food choices present us with incredible opportunities for prevention, intervention and outcome in breast cancer. Real and whole common foods combine thousands of safe plant compounds which multi-task, targeting many of the molecular pathways that are part of cancer’s development.  We will explore the foods which have been studied for their benefit against breast cancer, and discuss the foods and food-related factors which trigger cancer growth.

Description: Medical professionals know that many of their patients are taking herbs, but know very little about how an herbalist works. This talk presents an overview of herbal medicine, when and how herbs are used, and discusses guidelines for the risks and cautions in women's health, especially in pregnancy. We will review some typically recommended herbs and other options for easing common menopausal symptoms.
